Control room videowall

OVERVIEW

Rockbrook AV were tasked with the design, installation, and commissioning of a high resolution video wall with custom graphics and redundant video wall controller to help monitor plant operations at a large manufacturing facility.

LOCATION

Dublin, Ireland

Project Details

Located in a manufacturing facility in Dublin this video wall is used as the primary overview of all of the processing plants operations, including over 6,000 valves and 70 pumps and motors. Rockbrook also developed the control software for the processing plant as part of the controls division of Rockbrook Engineering. Our scope of supply was to create a realtime mimic of all automated equipment. To achieve this we developed a custom video wall server which ran an instance of Siemens WinCC which is the control system used in the plant for automation and control. This presented a virtual desktop to the video wall server which allowed us to create such a high resolution canvas.

Our experience and expertise with respect to integrating custom solutions was a real asset to the client for this project. Our graphic design team created the graphic layouts for the process flow to suit the aspect and format of the videowall. Rockbrook designed and built a custom video wall server with full redundancy to drive this video wall considering the command center nature of this project reliability and provision of a robust solution was of prime importance.

The video wall server is also capable of driving camera feeds, internet feeds and local laptop displays as picture in picture windows as required. The video wall was created using 12 video wall displays each outputting at full HD resolution providing an overall canvas resolution of 23,400 pixels x 2160 pixels.
