This project from the very start had a significant set of challenges. The project had just 3 months to engineer, install & commission from our contract award. The EXPO was in Milan and part of a massive site wide construction project which completely limited site access and made for very difficult working conditions. The technology installed in the visitor center focused around 5 large suspended floating projections and a 21 channel audio system designed to reproduce the sounds of Ireland. The ambience created during a rain sequence is so realistic that you almost run for cover.
A large hanging ceiling raft facilitated clever use of DMX lighting which was controlled in synchronization to the projections to mimic the colours present in the media. A separate section to the side of the main area featured a deep dive opportunity with videos on large format displays. Despite the challenges the center opened on time for the first day of the EXPO.
