Guinness Storehouse | advertising floor

The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number one tourist attraction and Rockbrook were tasked with the design, installation and commissioning of all audio visual components.

Project Details

The design intent was to bring to life the rich advertising heritage of Guinness. No old fashioned exhibits were allowed! It was important that the right balance between interactive elements and non interactive exhibits was spot on. As the visitor center caters for over 1.7 million visitors a year visitor flow management is critical and consideration of possible bottlenecks was a constant rhetorical question during the design phase. All interactive exhibits were designed to integrate with social media while the non interactive elements needed to be either very interesting or visually stunning.

From a fish cycling a mechanically operated bike, an electro-mechanical singing oyster to a laser interactive harp and a photo opportunity that placed you in the add the range of exhibits was diverse. The final wow factor design takes the form of a 35m long 12 projector ultra high resolution edge blended projection wall showcasing the most famous ads related to the brand. Our scope on this project was the full AV hardware specification, design, programming installation and commissioning. We were also tasked with some CGI animation and the iPad interactive programming. The project was a missive success and continues to support the design brief well with up to five thousand visitors a day on busy weekends.
