Passionately referred to as a brand home and not a visitor center by the client, this project is a prime example of how technology can be used to tell a story while largely remaining invisible. The technology itself is not the centerpiece.
Near Field RFID technology was used on props to automatically start exhibits on the very clever “Our Story” projection tables. This allowed the brand hosts to focus on the story, with seemingly magical AV triggers. To ensure robustness, hidden AV control switches were placed out of sight as a backup in the unlikely event of a failure. This level of engineering consideration results in a very robust system for a busy brand home.
Projection mapping technology was utilized effectively in the “Our Process” rooms, where 3D models were brought to life. Surround sound atmospheric tracks within the rooms were complemented by separate pendant speakers for direct vocal audio. This level of audio separation created a very realistic production environment that allowed the narrative to stand out. The exhibit's technical design needed to accommodate tours in eight different languages without the use of audio guides. We would be happy to describe our innovative approach to this—just ask us!
Our scope included the full specification, installation, and commissioning of all AV systems, an enormous 2,000-fixture show-controlled DMX lighting system, and all point-of-sale equipment.
