The book of Kells is one of Irelands national treasures, located in the famous old library in Trinity College. However, due to an upcoming significant temporary closure for necessary conservation works the Rockbrook in partnership with Event Museum Design, Novqc and ISO Design Studio delivered this amazing immersive experience.

As is often the case in visitor experiences the visitor interacts with displays. However, in this case the entire building interacts with the visitor. A total of 54 projections envelopes the visitors with striking immersive content, recreating imagery from the Book Of Kells and the incredible Old Library Long Room.Our project team worked with the exhibition designers Ralph Appelbaum Associates and our client Marcon Heritage to integrate and commission all of the audio-visual elements in the centre.

Our scope in this project was to design the AV scheme, projection mapping systems and audio systems.

Our team was also responsible for the electrical and lighting installation within the new pavilion.

To achieve the required budget our team, build used our own playback servers and control system to deliver perfectly sub frame accurate video synchronization. Projections included 360 degree room projections, animated talking busts and a recreation of the long room library.
